Which Home Remedies For Acne Of The Body Are The Best?

What is body acne

Body acne is acne that forms on your chest, back, butt, or arms, or anywhere else on your body that is not your face. I’ve dealt with it personally, and I have to just say ewww, it’s yucky.

Body acne often hurts worse than regular acne. That is because the skin on your body has bigger pores than the skin on your face, making your body acne bigger, deeper, and harder to get rid of.

I will go over 3 home remedies for acne on your body in this article and discuss whether or not they work.

Home remedy #1.

The first home remedy that many people try is toothpaste (the old fashioned white kind, not the gels). I’m not really sure why people use toothpaste to dry up acne, but they do.

What you do with the toothpaste is apply it directly to the the acne nodule, and let it dry. This won’t actually hurt your skin, or make it worse, but it doesn’t really help either. Personally I give this home remedy for acne a thumbs down.

Home remedy #2

The second home remedy is Witch Hazel. Now Witch Hazel is a funny name, but it is also a natural astringent. You can find witch hazel in a bottle at drug stores for less than a latte.

To use witch hazel as a remedy for acne, simply put it on a cotton ball and apply to the acne. You will probably notice that it is very soothing. For mild cases of body acne this treatment can help.

Home remedy #3

A body wash that contains Salicylic Acid can work wonders to cure body acne. In fact using a product that contains Salicylic Acid is one of the best things you can do to at home to treat body acne.

Salicylic Acid is an amazing acne fighting ingrediant, especially when combined with Citric Acid. When you put these two ingredients together they pack a powerful 1-2 punch, and clear up acne fast.

This one is a little more pricey (usually about $20 a month) but is in my experience the best cure for a home remedy for acne on the body.
