Different Manufacturers that Make Fairway Woods
Titleist started taking over the market when it introduced the Pro V1 and now it’s taking over the fairway wood market as well. I was extremely surprised when I saw that so many pros are playing Titleist fairway woods but those 906s are sure very attractive and easy to hit.
Cobra is making some headway with its drivers but I have seen no one play their fairway woods. Maybe hybrids but just not fairway woods. Oh well. They just need more high profile players like Camino to get amateur players excited about playing their clubs.
Cleveland makes good fairway woods but they’ve been using the same launcher name for like a decade now. That name is so 1990s so marketing really needs some help. It’s confusing and I can never find the right clubs when searching on ebay.
Bridgestone Golf is probably pretty popular in Japan but we are in the United States. Over here, I have yet to see this company promote any fairway woods so no comment.
Adams may be the pioneer in hybrids but their marketing is totally taken over by the other major brands. I have no idea what fairway woods they make so I naturally think they aren’t that great.
Taylormade is killing the competition with its burner line. Now, there’s the r9 which is said to be pretty awesome too. It might be expensive though so try before you commit or else it will burn a hole in your wallet.
Lynx mainly sells through Golfsmith and it’s not a bad brand. I’m not too familiar with them though so your mileage may vary. However, it will probably be pretty consistent if you couple it with a good shaft.
Callaway golf is really hurting lately because people are moving away from its clubs. Lately, I’ve seen their fairway woods selling for $1! Of course, you have to buy their driver but still. It’s pretty much free.
Nike made some inroads but those square looking fairway woods still takes getting used to. If you love Tiger woods though, you may be surprised that Tiger doesn’t play Nike fairway woods.
